Hello Friends of Plants,

I hope you are all enjoying the lovely autumn we have been having. I used to feel sad about the end of summer and the loss of vibrant green plant life around us. Loss, however, is an opportunity to find new possibilities in the world around us.

This year I am really learning to deeply appreciate and love the plants that support us all year round. That's why this year I am leading a full day workshop to harvest White Spruce. White Spruce is an incredible, powerful, and ancient plant. It has a long traditional history of use as a medicine and is a great ally in fighting off the colds and flus that prevail in winter.

Please note that I will not be offering this workshop again in the near future; so if you are interested in connecting to our seasonal medicine please join me on November 6th. You will have the opportunity to take home your own wild crafted medicines for internal and external use.

Warmest wishes,

Latifa

Dandelion Root: Your Backyard Liver Cleanser

Whether it’s a relationship of love or hate, there are few people unfamiliar with the infamous dandelion. A bane of gardeners and homeowners alike, the ubiquity of dandelion in urban areas around the world has lead to its use as a symbol of resistance and change by both artists and herbalists.

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is considered by many herbalists to be a key liver herb. The importance of the liver cannot be overlooked in maintaining good health, particularly in modern times when we are continuously exposed to toxic chemicals found in food, cosmetics, furniture, carpets, cleaning supplies and the list goes on.
